Miss you…Ma

Days turned into weeks, weeks into months
from the day you left us, never ever to return.
A dip in the sofa betrayed your favourite spot.
Replaced, removed, refurbished - yet memories can’t be blocked.
Clothes, jewelleries, handbags, even your brand new shoes,
given away to forget - yet nothing reduces my woes.
That chair in the dining hall or this side of the bed,
Stubbornly remains empty - dazed, lonely, disoriented.
Place where you created those heavenly recipe’s.
Now just a kitchen for life’s necessities.
That corner in the house, always filled with your chanting,
refuses to divulge, the way to your new lodging.
Days are spent in a daze, night fighting bad dreams,
stabbing endless pain and throttling unheard screams.
Do you know, do you care, do you even give a damn
Maybe you smile and think, “Baby!! What a sham”
You left so abruptly without saying “Farewell”
Yet will always miss you, Ma, from every fibre of my cells.
